Bye, Bye, Baby
(2016)
Sculpture installation (recycled baby clothes, cotton yarn, video, sound)
Bye, Bye, Baby is a sculpture installation, a portrait of the evergrowing child. I use recycled baby clothes as the material for the sculpture. Sown together they seem like a desperate attempt to keep the baby a baby, making the result a giant with frankensteinish stitches. In the video a lifesize adult rolls back and forth a big red ball to the baby. Inside the sculpture there is a low sound of a heart beat.
Bye, Bye, Baby is an ode for the moment and for the longing of the moment. The child hatches up as something bigger everyday. Every fallen bit I want to keep.
